"You're hot!"

Let's be honest. I think my husband is pretty darn attractive. I definitely don't think he has mass audience appeal (not going to win any Mr. America contests) but duh, it was a mix of personality and those cute legs that convinced me to say "yes" when he popped the question.

He was on duty the other night walking down the street doing something-or-other when he walked by two young-ish females. As he passed them he noticed that their conversation stopped. Then yelling after him....

girl: "You're hot!"
DH: "No, I'm not!"
girl: "yes, you're hot!"
DH: "No, I'm not!"
girl: "Yes you are!"
DH: "Hey, watch it, I'm married and have two kids!"
girl: "I have two kids too!"
DH: "I'm a good Christian boy!"
girl: "So are we! What are you trying to say?"

... end of story.

Weirdos.

Personally, it makes me nuts because I'm extremely territorial (as opposed to jealous). But as long as the women saying stuff acknowledge me first (or at least eventually!!) I'm mostly fine with it.

Of course, 99% of the time the people who say it make Husband want to wash his hands just for being looked at. I like that part! :)

I am a really jealous person come to find out, so even though I would be laughing as he told me the story, I would secretly be planning on how I could find these girls and beat them up or key their car. So unlike me it's shocking! That's how I found out I was jealous. But, on a lighter note, it's always nice when someone else validates your opinion on your husband's cuteness. Our neighbors are from Ecuador and one day their daughter who is in their 30s and some of her friends were sitting on the steps in front of their apartment. When HF walked out, they started gushing over him in spanish and talking about what a nice butt he had, etc. etc. Somebody should probably let them know that most people speak or understand spanish these days. Both my husband and I speak spanish. He thought it was funny, but I was really annoyed that they would do that. I thought it was disrespectful. But then again, if anyone else were telling me this same story that happened to them, I would think it was awesome. I hate feeling jealous, because that usually means that you don't trust him, at least that's what I've heard, but I trust him, he's just MINE. Back off.

Woah, Mrs. Fuzz, that would have really rankled me too! I am pretty fluent in Spanish and very very NOT Mexican looking so everyone is always shocked -- exactly like you said, funny but disrespectful especially since you knew exactly what was going on.
